STICKY SAUSAGE CANAPÉS

A recipe from a TV cookery program by John & Lisa Torode. Tried it at Christmas, they’re delicious and super easy. One to remember and do again!

INGREDIENTS
48 cocktail sausages
Bottle of Teriyaki sauce
Sesame seeds

Cocktail sausages come in packs of 24, I used 2 packs but it would probably stretch to 3 packs.

METHOD
Place the sausages on a baking tray and cook in oven as per instructions.

Once cooked tip over the bottle of sauce and toss sausages to coat evenly. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and return to oven for around 10 minutes until the sauce has formed a sticky coating on the sausages. Serve!

CHLOE’S SMARTIE BISCUITS

Quick and easy enough for children to make.  Makes about 24 biscuits.

INGREDIENTS
100g Butter
100g Light Brown Sugar
1 Tblsp Golden Syrup
150g Self Raising Flour
85g Smarties

METHOD
Cream together Butter, Sugar and Syrup.

Add Flour and Smarties to form a dough.

Teaspoon dough into hands and roll into individual balls.  Place onto baking sheet and flatten slightly.  They will spread whilst cooking so make sure you leave space between them.

Bake at 160c for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

They will be soft when they come out of the oven so leave to cool before attempting to remove from the baking sheet. They crisp up as they cool.
